Tom, The British Christmas Spammer
A very persistent spammer keeps trying to post comments to the site. I've gotten spam before; usually they try once and don't get approved, so they move along. But Tom is special. Special in the short bus sense. He posts to the same entry (my first one, buried deep in the archives), with the same message. "I want a [insert random URL here] for Christmas!" Good for you Tom. But maybe you want to try writing to Santa instead?
Comments
The "MT-Blacklist" plugin has been a real blog-saver for Tim and I! It allows people to freely comment on your site, but is smart about it - setting up filters to prevent comments from being posted with certain key words or from certain addresses (which you can add to) and also prevents comment posts to "old entries" (which is typically what spammers target) which get saved and require your approval before they'll be published; but everything else can get through so you don't have to moderate and approve all comments... Tim set it up for me on timothyandheather.com and could get you going very quickly! Once it is set up it is super easy to maintain. Send him an email if you want him to get you going with the MT-Blacklist plugin!

Dear Saedigh Clause,
I hear on good authority from my good friend Tom that you are handling Santa's overflow.
I would like a new PDA, a pair of waterproof gloves, and the usual assortment of very tacky sweaters. And a random URL.
Respectfully yours,
boothwah
P.S. - That whole thing with the hose, and the lighter fluid, and the neighbor's fence was really a fluke. If you take that out, I think the exit polls will show that I was predominantly "nice."
