Caffeine Redux
Just like Apocolypse Now Redux was ridiculously longer than the original version, Starbucks has become ridiculously more expensive than its original version. Today I paid $1.66 for the same God damn coffee I paid $1.55 for yesterday. When I asked the man in charge of hiring these robber barons to run our cafeteria, he didn't seem to care at all. He doesn't think that $1.66 for a SMALL GOD DAMN COFFEE is an unreasonable price. Well, maybe if more people write him and tell him it's unreasonable, he'll get a better idea. If you have any thoughts on this subject, let me know. I'll see if I can help you be heard.

As long as people pay the 'going rate' ($1.50 - $4.00 USD) for a cup of 5 cent coffee you should expect them to charge what they can get away with. I think that's what I'm told is the glorious part of capitolism. I susupect they figure that sooner or later the health industry is comming after them like it did the tabacco people and they want their money now when it's 'safe' to get it. Then again they may just be greedy. I recommend going off it for a week and then back on... do the on 2 weeks, off 1 week thing for a while... it's oodles of fun... I still remember when I quit cafeen cold turkey... ah...the pain... such glorious pain...

If you get yourself a little coffee maker for your desk, we'll send you regular supplies of Seattle's Best :-) Much better tasting than Starbucks. And a hell of a lot cheaper way to get your coffee :-)
Not sure if they let you do that there (keep your own coffee maker? Some places have rules about that. We're allowed to do it where I work).
