And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest

There was not a person in this world who Diva couldn't make smile. Unless you were delivering something unannounced to our door. Then she'd bark and make you wonder why we didn't have a "Beware of Dog" sign posted by the front walk. But she was all talk. She had a heart of gold and couldn't hurt a living thing.

She had an odd sort of bravery though. She would sleep outside my door when Dad was away. I don't know if it was to prevent me from getting out or others from getting in, but there was comfort in the soft thud I'd hear as she put her weight against the frame. If I was walking with her, otherwise alone, and someone was approaching us, she would station herself between them and me and watch until they passed.

She was a very dainty eater. She looked like an aristocrat when she drank from her bowl. She liked to take her time, and savour every bite. She never bowed to Prinz's peer pressure to eat faster, and never acquiesced to his threats to sneak her food away.

You were my most loyal friend, Deev, the noblest of hearts. These are some of the things I will remember to try to help me not feel so bad for not being there when you needed me the most. I love you.

Her loyalty, intelligence and gentleness set her apart and won everybody's respect and affection. She especially rejoiced when you came home or when we went to your place. I know you will miss her terribly, but will remember your good times with her forever.

God bless you for loving the companion who loved you with every gram of her being. I am sure she knew of your love every day of her life, just as you were assured of hers.
